Beowulf emerged onto the plains...his broad figure casting a dull shadow in the fading light of the evening. His slow, heavy steps made their way towards the great lookout. As he neared the fortress, he observed several tracks distinctly marked in the soft ground... They were not but a day old...but whoever had been here was likely to have left.
Still...Beowulf climbed the steps of the lookout slowly, but kept his hand off his sword. If he needed it, he would have little trouble in drawing it...

*Brom The traveler and 100 stoneworkers reached the top. He watched them begin rebuilding the watchtower. They had plans for a large tower in the middle which could hold 50 archers and 4 smaller towers all around it that could fit 10 archers each. Even though Brom was not an enemy of Garthen or the Witchking, he wasn't a friend either, and he had to be cautious*

*Thraden saw Brom standing up there. He motioned to be quiet and they hid in a low cavern*

She nodded slightly confused but still made no sound and followed his lead.

"They call him Brom. He's a powerful wizard. He must be the new king of Arnor that I've been hearing about. We must stay here until he leaves."

"All right. I understand." She scrunched down so that Brom would not be able to see her.

(well, lets see, where's beowulf in all this?)
Beowulf had swung down from the great tower at the coming of the workers. His dark figure was hidden against the shadows of the base of the great tower. He could wait...he always waited...

*As night fell, Brom and the stoneworkers left for the night and set up camp near the base of the hill*

"Ok come on." *Thraden and Kyolin got out and walked to the top. They looked at what had been built so far* "It's obvious, Brom is afraid."

"Afraid of what?" She looked around but not at what had been built but at the scenery around them.

"Garthen and the Witchking. It would seems that he is neither their enemy nor friend and he fears they will attack Arnor. That is what I think."

Beowulf's dark form was barely distinguishable as he scaled the side of the high fortress. His shape fell over the side, hidden against the dark pillars that were the remains of the old lookout.
The eyes of this hunter were a friend to the darkness and he watched Thraden and the strange woman for some time before stepping forward, uttering a quiet greeting.
"Thraden...what brings you here this night?"

"Seeing how Brom the wizard is rebulding Weathertop. If anything, this shows that he is afraid. Perhaps he is not allied with Garthen and the Witchking as we had originally thought."
