She nodded and chose her words carefully before responding to him. "By what name should we call you for though you have been called many things I need at least one of those names to put to your face."

For the first time that day Emelian smiled after hearing the words that were spoken by Kyolin. "I can see you have some wisdom in you, kindel that and you will become like a eagle of the sky and a lion of the fields. A name that can be put to my face by a mortal tongue may by Emelian. That is what you may call me."

"Emelian? A name I have not heard before... You look as one from the north, are you not?"

He turned and looked at Beowulf. " I am from many places, the North, the East, I have come from no particular location. The name Emelian should be unfamiliar to you for it is one that has not been in use since the Eldar days. " Emelian replied in his acustomed voice.

"And what side are you on? Are you for the land of the shadows or the land of the light?"

"All lands sees shadow at some time. A day can only last so long before the light fades to darkness, but as you know darkness is only a passing thing. A new day will come. A fight for those whose hearts are pure, for the tender of the fields, the fish of the stream and birds of the air."

"Whatever. But I think'd you have more luck as a bard and not a fighter."

Beowulf laughed at Thraden's comment and his sword was sheathed as he became more relaxed. "Perhaps he should Thraden, though I must admit his view is perfectly in line with my own. No land serves my goal, and so I pledge myself to none but fight as I deem right..."

He looked at Thraden. " In the end you will be glad that I am a fighter and not a bard." He turned to Beowulf. " What you deem right? What is it that you deem right?"

"Well now that we all know each other, at least partly. . .*he glanced at Emelian* I suggest we get out of here before they awake and attack us. I'd hate to be around when they return in the morning."

"It is not fear which drives us to leave but reason. Why start a fight when one can be avoided? We still don't know if Brom is on our side or not, so why strike a fight with a would be ally?"

"If he is an ally...then we need not fight. Still, we have several hours before daybreak. Let us look at their work at our own ease..."

"I suppose you're right. But I'd hate to take the risk of fighting a wizard no matter how powerful. I think this will be pretty strong and hard to take. 5 towers, one larger than the rest. The highest one gives a an excellent view. And the hill helps. This could hold lots of archers. And soldiers can charge down the hill getting momemtum and strength advantage. And it would be hard to take the hill with the archers shooting down."
