Ecthelion had the stallion stabled and saw to his comforts, rubbing the velvety nose , then entered the inn with his pack. He was shown a room, where he took time bathing and changing from his travelling clothes into finer garb, breeches, tooled doeskin boots, royal blue shirt and long velvet cloak. His hip length hair was bound back by warrior braids, and knotted after the manner of his House, and a circlet of nobility rested on his brow, and he ascended to the public rooms, asking for a quiet table, a light meal and wine. He had bowed, entering, to any that were there, then after he had eaten , he sipped the cool, fruity wine, leaning back, one booted leg crossed over the other. A fire of scented applewood was burning and he looked into the flames, his silver-grey eyes shadowed by the thick sweep of lashes. So, mellon nin, he said in silence to his golden haired friend whom he had known so long ago, fought with, laughed with, learned from when they were both elflings This is Imladris, and it is beautiful, He would introduce himself to the Master of Rivendell soon, Elrond, great grandson of the King he had served in Gondolin , and look around this place in a short while.

........ Returning from his travelling, for a while, Ecthelion was given his same room , one he liked with its view over a garden, and the waterfall that plunged down into the deep valley. He took wine and food in the main room, shrugging off his cloak and relaxed. So where are you, mellon nin, and why do so few people speak, or seem to care? He closed his eyes briefly, lost in memories both old and more fresh.

'It is beautiful here.....though not as much as it used to be,' the tall, golden haired warrior stood in the doorway to the inn, his sword belted safely at his hip and his long hair sling back in the ancient warrior braids of his house. 'A nymph told me there was someone looking for me....I would hardly believe it but it seems my day is to be ill fated after all,' his smile was friendly and perfectly small, although he had spent hours training, the only thing that showed it on his body were the loose strands of hair which fell loose from their knots.

Ecthelion did not look up for a moment, although his eyes crinkled slightly at the corners, as the well remembered voice spoke, he sat back, more languidly, draping a booted foot over the arm of the chair, ' And tell me Glorfindel Golden Hair, do you still braid your hair when it is wet to let it dry into waves? ' He asked, a smile curving his lips, as he finally turned his head. ' A nymph? A lady like a mithril sword, with fiery eyes and a face like an ancient legend? '

'Usually I let some fair maiden do it for me,' his eyes laughed, his old friend seemed not to have changed in the slightest. He was as annoying as ever. 'And you....do you still swing yours at you hip to entice pretty elves, mellon-nin?'

Brünnehilde arrived to Rivendell so she could have a word with the Evenstar, many things were there to do and so little time, she knew perfectly well how even a thousand years could fly in life. She walked to the Inn, she was weary and needed something to drink. She opened the door and stepped inside with the wind behind her entering the pub. Her hoof shake slowly and her golden hair waved around and then the door closed behind her. She noticed two elves she had never known in her life. They seemed good old friends. She saw an empty table and walked forth with her confidence she always possessed. She could never doubt one second for action was always in her heart. She asked Lord Glorfindel if he could let her pass and sat on that table. She looked at the waitress as she approached and she could take her order. She never lost the hint of what happened around her. She was finally back home...

Ecthelion inclined his head to the lady, then looked back at his friend and laughed. ' I have not seen any.. but one, I would entice , ' he looked Glorfindel over, smiling, ' Hmm, I have seen many things to disapoint here, in this older Middle Earth, and a very few which are beautiful, ' he rose gracefuly and walked behind him, as if measuring something against an ancient memory. ' Good to see some things do not change, you might even be able to best that Balrog now, cun lend nin '

'That Ballrog has had it coming for a millenia,' he turned, standing tall and eye to eye with his friend. 'Please, Ecthelion, it's been a long time, but there's no need to try and seduve me,' je joked, his voice and his smile deep. 'Just one? I thought you would have set up a harem somewhere by now, but still....one is a start,' he slapped his friends shoulder and went to pick up a flaggon of strong wine for each of them and set them down on the table.

She ordered a glass of white wine, she still had some lembas on her bag, no need of extra food. But still she was thirtsy, especially when you miss the good elvish wine. She smiled as the waitress brought her the glass and took a sip after she had some lembas. She enjoyed that food so much. She saw the two elves and one to go get them some drinks. It was good to be back on Rivendell, after traveling so much and far away. Even when she wished to go to Mithlond for a lost past, in her heart... Rivendell was her true home. She drank some wine.

Ecthelions lips curved as he poured the wine, ' Did I ever have to try and seduce you? ' he said perfectly straight faced, although his eyes danced with hilarity. ' Well what of you? How many beauties do you keep in your house here, they must have all gone somewhere, there was just one little dark wood-elf you missed.... unless you have her there now, ' He drank the wine. ' And if you have, be warned, all's fair in love and war, ... and between old friends, you always went for dark beauties, .... to set off those golden locks, but then... so did I. Usually ' he ammended.

The Noldor's wide shoulders shook with laughter. 'Which wood nymph do you think told me you were here looking for me?' he smiled against the rim of his cup. 'There are one or two, who come and go as they please....but too few like the ladies of old,' he smiled in memory, 'dark haired, grey eyes, brilliant at...well, everything,' he chuckled, 'too many of them are gone,' he looked at the woman who had just walked into the inn and winked at her, catching her eye. 'But no, Ryoko does not stay in my rooms,' he raised his cup to his lips, '...she has one next door,' he toasted.

She noticed Glorfindel's wink as she looked at him with her blue crystal eyes and raised her glass of wine to drink, but she actually smiled as she blushed slightly. She knew he was mysterious for her, but captivated or not, she looked away as she drank of her wine. Those were Noldor's eyes, she was sure of it for she had seen so in Mithlond during her stay.

Ecthelion watched the interchange, as he had, so many times before, in Tirion, in Nevrast , in Gondolin, and silently laughed, The lady Ryoko did seem the independant sort. Careful, you know they all want marriage in the end, marriage, children, his silver grey eyes went from the womans face back to his friends. Glorfindel knew his own magificence, but it was the nature of his true brilliance, that his arrogance and charm were palatable, except to lesser males of course, who could not match him. he sat back, stretching his long booted legs. ' yes, far too few, what happened to the world , Glorfindel? ' he mused.

If I was ever going to settle down into mariage with children, I imagine she would be the sort.....the sort I would like to have as the mother of my children, anyway, he smiled, crossing his boots under the oak table. 'There is a lot of love there, for the right man, perhaps, but who is looking for love when there are so many other things to endulge in, first.' His firm finger rounded the base of his cup, 'foremost, she is a friend, at least with me I know she wouldnt be hurt, she would be too proud to admit if she ever was by anyone else, and even friends can have...desires, there is nothing un-natural about that, as you should know..' again he sipped his wine. 'Ah, I dont know, old friend, too many like you left, now this world is the best it is able to be, and it struggles, for that, there are always those willing and ready to drag it down to deapths lower than the void, if they could.'

She heard the conversation, they had lived more in Middle Earth than herself, she respected personal opinions but could not understand why settle for one taste of likes, for one style of life, to endure darkness and feel everything hopeless. She shook her head, there was more to life and independence than that. Her heart knew so, but still mind controlled sometimes. She straightened up on her chair and drank some more.
