Fingondfin set out from the darkness of the mountains alone, for she wished to scour middle-earth to find the meaning of one thing: How to escape the exile of the valar that had been placed upon her ever since she crossed the Helcaraxe with her Noldor kin.

Ravehiir bowed to Eomer. "I am Ravehiir, a Maiar, and part of the White Council. I have been friends with Fingondfin for a very long time." He turned to Fin. "It has been too long my friend. You never told me the details of your exile, will you indulge me?"

"The basics of it were that I am one of the Noldor who forsook Valinor with Fingolfin and Feanor. My father knew Fingolfin well and I travelled with his host. I crossed the Helcaraxe. I have lived this side of the sea since then, and when my kinsmen were released the Valar did not see fit to release the exile upon me."

Ravehiir nodded. "I was once of Gondor, but was exiled after accidently killing a man. I lived in Ithillien in hiding until I met Radagast, who trained me. What are you doing now?"
