Thew Witchking led 13,000 Morgul soldiers of Harad into Ithilien. They began to burn the trees down and bombard the land with catapults before advancing. Arrows flew at the rangers of Ithlien killing many. The Witchking swooped down on the enemies smashed down trees as he went.

Faramir arrived with his forces of less the 2,000 men. They hid in the trees and began to fire arrows at the enemy forces. They knew they could not hold for long

The Morgul archers returned fire launching hundreds of arrows at them as Morgul swordsmen advanced quickly, sneaking up on enemy archers and slaying them.

* The rangers of Ithilien at all time kept moving backwards. They fired as many arrows as they could at anyone that they saw. They were not having much of an affect, but they were killing some men

Horsemen chased the rangers, killing off stragglers. The Witchking swooped down on a group of them knocking aside trees as he went. His fellbeast crushed several rangers under its claws and took another two rangers in its mouth.

There was not much his men could do to stop the Witch King. He was greatly ountnumbered. He gave the order and his men fell back out of Ithilien to Gondor

The Witchking allowed Faramir and his remaining forces to retreat while he ordered his army to begin turning Ithilian into a land of evil.
