Next to Glorfinde's rooms in the house of Imladris, Ryoko mounted her bow on a stand on the wall and then started to wind her long hair back into its warrior braids, not wanting it to get tangled up in her bowstring later when she ventured to the archery range. She stoked a quick fire and then opened an old book, sitting in the warm glow.

Ecthelion knocked and followed it up by casually pushing the door open, and glancing in ' I thought I should check if you were with my freind, or at home, lady, ' he said, with a deep smile.

'Would it have made any difference if I were?' she said from behind her book, which was the histories of the Eldar in Rivendell, but from a more...artistic point of view. 'Its a good thing you knocked, you might have interupted something..very indecent,' she turned a page, which ironically enough, was on Glorfindel and his heroic fall to Morgoth's Balrog. 'Your friend, if I were to guess, I would say is next door. I didnt go and check, just in case I interupted something,' she smiled and set the book asside. She wore the tight, frminine breeches, which most Mirkwood elves wore, and a shirt which was laced at her breast and sleeves, vine patterned boots wound their way around her calves, one with a hunting knife still belted to it. 'Can I help you, Lord Ecthelion?' her voice dipped into a low caress.

' Perhaps, ' his cloak and hair swung as he entered, his look appraising, curious as he swept up her book in his elegant hand and glanced at it, then laughed and tutted ' A very good artist lady, with a proper knowledge of anatomy, and a sense of humour, ' he shook his head, ' Glorfindel .. again, my Eru, how that man does not explode from conceit I will never know. I am surprised you are not next door, lady, but... pleased, anyway, it would not be the first time I walked in on Glorfindel in an...' he tapped the book, ' artistic situation, '

'I dont simply come here to fall into his bed and then leave again,' she stood, although she did not reach his height. 'Lord Glorfindel is my friend, as he is yours,' she smiled, 'close friends, not that it is any of your busniess.' She pored two glased of wine from a silver pitcher. 'But...hes not the only one who is so conceited,' she offered him the glass and leaned against her dresser. 'Why glad?' her eyes tilted up from the rim of her wine cup, 'I hope Glorfindel handt given me a reputation, but perhaps its not him who is the artist.'

He smiled appreciatively, ' he said , that were he to marry any-one, it would be you, that is a high accolade from him, lady Ryoko, I have never heard him say it of any woman. But the truth is, any woman who wears warrior braids , and looks and walks like you, was bound to intirgue me.. as him, we are very close, in many ways, '

'He said that?' she looked serious, suddenly, and almost worry, as her dark brows creased and she sed down her drink. 'If I were to marry anyone, it would be someone I love, and who loves me, and as much as I care for Glorfindel.....' she laughed, without humour. 'Eru, we would drive each other insane, eventually, and he could never limit himself to one woman.....two or three, perhaps, but not one she looked at him, her eyes scanning his dark hair, his wide shoulders and narrow waist. 'So is that why you are here? Because you and he are so accustomed to sharing,' she smiled then, stepping clse to him. '...how intirgued are you?' her fingers slipped lightly over the fastenings of his shirt.

His silver grey eyes suddenly blazed, ' No, lady, that is not why I am here , because I don't d*mn well think I would share you with him! He's had his chance, he should really have married you, the fool, but ai, he never limits himself, ' he caught her hands, smiling, his quick anger dying away, ' oh... intrigued, tell me about those, ' his eyes flicked to her braids.

'What is there to tell, they are earned in the same way every warrior and every archer in this valley earned theirs.' She pulled her hand from his. 'this middle-earth is awash with battles and wars and a skermish in every corner, it needs every warrior it can get.'

' Oh well, that was a tale and a half, ' he murmured, ' perhaps I can be of use then, if any-one can ever be bothered to move off their rumps and tell a stranger what is going on, ' his eyes moved over her, ' Truly exquisite, but....very fiesty, ' He said, ' I apologise, lady Ryoko, but you are so different , you remind me more , as Glorfindel said, of the Noldor women of old, brilliant, beautiful, bold, spirited, I have known few of you Silvan Elves, .... and those I have so far observed, ' he gave a slight laugh. ' Trust my friend to choose the best, but then , he always did. What I do not understand is why you are not in love with him, most women would be, unless as you say, you are too similar '
