This is a darker version of Middle Earth, set after the "The Return of the King" but with a twist where Frodo has not managed to destroy the ring. The board is new and looking for as many members as possible!
The plot is a little complicated, but is also original and has lots of scope for new members. I have posted the plot below, but you can also read it on the website:

The Age of Shadow, or the Fourth Age of Middle Earth, is set at the end of the third book, only where Frodo did not manage to destroy the ring and Sauron has returned to power. This RPG enacts the events that take place. Although you can have your character’s own storyline, you must not have them do anything that would disallow the main plot. For example, if you are playing a man of Gondor and they are going to Dol Amroth, you cannot have your character suddenly sprint off n a rescue mission to Mordor – at least, not without permission from all of the admins at Eldamar So, here it is:
The Story thus far…
When Gollum bit the ring from Frodo’s finger, he managed to get the ring back down Mount Doom, but was intercepted in Mordor by an orc named Gairakka. This orc was rewarded by being made the Captain of a scouting party to Lorien. Gollum was captured, as were Frodo and Sam, and are being held in the Black Tower. Sauron has the ring, and has returned to power.
The eight remaining black riders have been sent to the shire to take the hobbits as slaves. As the Witch-King was slain, a new enemy has risen to take his place: Middiel the Witch-Queen. She has been given one task: to kill Eowyn and Merry, the two who slay her predecessor. She has taken an army of Uruk-hai to Gondor, and is planning to attack Minas Tirith. At Minas Tirith are Eowyn, Faramir, Merry, Pippin, and a small group of men who were left to protect them in case the men at the black gates should fall – as indeed they did.
After Sauron regained the ring, the army of men fought for a while, but were eventually forced to retreat. Legolas was badly wounded, and now Gimli is taking him to Rivendell where they hope Elrond will be able to heal him. Aragorn also travels with them, despite Gandalf’s advice that he should stay, as he can no longer bear to be away from Arwen. He has also overheard rumours of an army marching for Lothlorien and, knowing that Elrond will try to take her there, is worried for her safety in this new age of Shadow.
Meanwhile, Gandalf and Eomer sought to return to Minas Tirith. However, they were intercepted near to Osgiliath, and now they have turned to Dol Amroth to decide whether to try and reach Eryn Lasgalen where the Lord Thranduil waits for them, to try and help the people of Rohan, or to attempt to rescue Frodo and Sam. They have managed to get news to Faramir, and he and his companions are fleeing to Heneth Annun, the caves where the armies of Gondor would once go to for safety. At Eryn Lasgalen, formerly called Mirkwood, Thranduil’s army and a small group of warriors from Lothlorien have driven the wraiths from Dol Guldur and have made the forests good once more, although it is not known how long that will last. The orcs who were forced from the forest with the Nazguls are furious, and some of them plan to return to the forest, along with
Unfortunately, in Rivendell, the one place where Legolas can hope to be healed, the elves are preparing to leave for Lothlorien, where they will meet up with the last of the elvenkind who wish to leave for the Grey Havens. Elrond feels that he has done all he can to aid the men in their fight for Middle Earth, and so he and Celeborn together came to the decision to leave for the Undying Lands. With him he takes Arwen, forcing her to accompany him because he fears so for her safety. He puts her in the charge of Elrohir and Elladan, her two brothers, and now she is pleading with them for her release so that she might track down Aragorn. Bilbo will travels with them, and he is backing her case. They are not ready to leave yet, as Bilbo is recovering from an illness, but they do not know that Aragorn and his companions are coming, and so if they are ready before his party arrive, there is little hope left for Legolas…
The elves of Lorien are currently unaware of Gairakka’s mission to destroy their home, and they are merely preparing their inhabitants to leave when the Rivendell elves arrive. Their only hope is that Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas can reach Rivendell before the elves there leave.
The other forest-dwellers of Middle Earth are the ents. They have finally left to locate the entwives, and plan to leave Isengard for the Shire. There the entwives really do exist, and are lead by the entwife Wandlimb, wife of Treebeard. They have been watching the hobbits for some time, and news is coming from the entwives a little further away from the Shire that the black riders are returning south. The entwives have decided that they must defend the little hairy-footed creatures that live under the hills, and have called council with the Old Gaffer and Rosie Cotton, two of the most prominent hobbits in Hobbiton and two who knew Frodo and Sam before they left.
