The sun rose high in the sky, shinging bright rays down onto the Pelenor Fields, as barren and destroyed as it was. The light shown into the remains of Minas Tirith, the las defense of Gondor, which now lie in ruin.
Terion son of Terrin walked to the brink of the Northwestern hill overlooking the Pellenor. Accompanying him was six hundred rangers and samuria from the League of the Skilled. Terion looked to Minas Tirith and then to the destroyed city of Osgiliath. He sighed and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.
He had seen enough of this war, and now he needed to end it. He knew his army liberate this country, and regain the rest of the realms of men. The rest would have to be up to Eomer and the rest of the world of men. He knew what job he had to do, and he knew he was the only one that could do it.
A few orcs prowled on the Pellenor and in Osgiliath as well as Minas Tirith. They saw Terion and his makeshift army, laughing indefinatly. They did not believe they would loose to such a small force. Terion's men, which rode horses and wore the the golden color armor of their League spread out behind Terion and to both his right and left side. They barely streched a hundred yards, and the hilltop was not nearly full as it ad been once before against Sauron's masses.
Terion drew his sword. He knew if he did not prevail in this battle, he would not be coming back. His men had vowed to fight to the last and so had he. Terion's armor glistened in the sun and his shone onto his breastplate. Terion looked to both sides of him. He nodded and then turned to the Pellenor and the liberation of Gondor.
The orcs had gathered on the Pellenor, perhaps three thousand or so. A small garrison for the Witch King had sent many men into Arnor in an attempt to claim it. They watched the formation of the forces with smiles on their faces. They loved the chance to kill and slaughter men. Their pikes, scimitars and any other odd weapon that any orc would carry were out and ready for the charge of such a small army.
Terion looked at the orcs and ten turned to his men, brave and couragous they were. Terion did not hope that they would go to their dooms in this battle but he knew nothing for sure. He then spoke in his natural voice.
" Today, we fight alone and for the freedom of this country. For the freedom of Gondor, and from the oppression of the Witch King! We fight with honor and valor. Years from now men in shining armor will remember this day and thump their chests and say what great day this was. For today we liberate Gondor! Today, we free this side of the World!"
A cheer rose from his men as he said these words.With those words Terion let out the massive roar of that of a fifty lions. The orcs on the Pellenor laughed and mocked him in their own ways but it ceased almost instanly when they saw what came after Terion's call. The orcs looked upon the hill and to their horror and dismay they looked at line upon line upon line of animals. Millions, from the smallest ant to a horse. All had gathered and would fight for Middle Earth, for their home. Horses, and lions and bears and all other large beasts, made the first twenty lines and yet over four hundred lines their were. The masses stretched for nearly a mile behind Terion and all across the hilltop.
The orc's eyes below widened and not a word was said or mock or of laughter. Fear was in the very hearts of those who used fear as their very most effect weapon. Fearful they were and fearful they should have been.
Terion watched his army form and once they filled the hilltop and strectched out onto its brink. He turned, his white horse directed towards the Pellenor. It was time. Terion let one last yell.
" For Freedom!"
And shoved his sword foward his horse realing into the air as it charged down the Hill. His men let out a yell and every beast and creature surged foward, down the hill. Eagles in groups of seven flew over head towards the orcs and Osgiliath along with leagues and leagues of birds, crows jays and all others imaginable.
Such a stapede as it was that the ground shook beneath the orcs as the thundering herd of men and beast charged down the hill. The orcs could do nothing much watch, mezmorized at the quanity of foes rushing towards them. The end of they could not see and their own end was swift as the line of beast and soldiers crashed with a quick thud and sound of orc being trapled and flying off horse or beng ripped apart by claws and teeth. Never had a forth so large ever stepped upon of the Pellenor and now this force would liberate it!
