These are the Dungeons. They are deep within the hill that Edoras stands upon.

"Hmm."
*after a minute's pause he went on*
"Well, we were all gathered together at the council. I was wary of an ambush, but hubris overcame me and I was overconfident. However, I did sent my captain Jormunder to scout out Isengard while I was distracted. What he found I still do not know. Anyway, we were at the council, Saruman somehow took control of everyone's minds there. He took control of Aryndel, who in turn killed Terion. Saruman thought he had me under his control, because of the power that had been in Lurtz's sword, which was broken by my master, breaking the spell. In his overconfidence, he was not aware of this and tried to activate control of me, and he believed me controlled. I feigned being controlled and returned to Mirkwood. It would be no good revealing i was not under his cotrol, because of his army. So I fled and returned to Mirkwood, where I was arrested by Jormunder, who must have been too near when Saruman used his mind control and must have gained control of Jormunder accidentally.
"So, that's my story. Believe it or not. And Mirkwood will now turn to evil. All the war I forced Mirkwood to fight in has made Jormunder immensely more popular than me. But not stronger. I believe he will take control since I am in here, and he will command Mirkwood under Saruman, all the while fooling the people of Mirkwood."

"Well, if I was under control, I would have tried to kill you the second I saw you. Saruman wants you dead, and he would make me try and kill you, no matter the risk to myself, for if I died, it would be another enemy out of the way for him."

"Obviously. So I guess I'll just have to rot in prison for awhile. No matter, I'll be out soon enough."

"Well, for one, you will soon see that I am needed in Mirkwood. Secondly, as I am innocent, I suppose Mirkwood's uproar will prove it. Third, I will easily outlive you and your descendants sitting in jail. Also, I desire a trial."

He nodded. " I do suppose that is true. But you will not outlive me if you are killed for being a traitor

"You have no proof of treason from me. You are merely taking the word of a greedy captain. And we are not all one country. Only my own people have the right to execute me for treason."

He nodded. " That may be so. However, if your people are against you as you say, then you will be killed anyway. Correct?
