Oromë is the Huntsman of the Valar. He delights in hunting down all fell beasts and monsters. His name means 'Horn-blowing' or 'Sound of Horns.' Great is he in might, but not as strong as Tulkas. Whereas Tulkas laughs always, even in battle, Oromë is dreadful in anger. Oromë came last to Valinor because he loved the lands of Middle-Earth so dearly, but was said to return there. He loves all trees, which is why he's called Aldaron and Tauron by the Sindar, which both mean Lord of Forests. Upon his great steed Nahar he rides, who shines white in the sun and silver at night. Nahar was said to have sired the Mearas, the great horses of Rohan. Oromë carries his great horn, Valaróma, which was said to have been heard over all the other horns of his host.
He led the Elves that awoke at Cuivienen to Valinor.
Oromë also carries a spear with him, similar to those carried by the Rohirrim, along with a sword, and a great Elven bow.
