It wouldn't of done anything. I was a coward He said, his voice full of self loathing. He looked down at the table, his face growing serious In the face of danger, I did nothing more then watch. Watch them die and then watched as there corpses burned. I watched as there bodies turned ash like mere wood in a fire. I watched as the heretic left as easily as he came. He looked up again and back at her, his eyes where blank but there where some faint trances of emotion in them I ran, Kaida. Despite all our talks of being fierceless adventures, I ran. Never will I let myself live that down. Never will I be afraid. Never will I feel again...

"Oh Tyrael!" *She grabbed his hands and squeezed them reasuringly* "We all need some emotion. You cannot abandon them all because you don't like one of them. Please Tyrael, I know that your childhood was hard but why turn your back on yourself forever?" *She knew that even just from the story that she was about to cry but didn't want Tyrael to see her as a weakling so she held it in*

Tyrael kept his gaze blank, still devoid of any emotion. He did not move his hands but he did not squeeze back either I haven't turned my back on myself. I'm stronger now, no longer let down by my own short comings. Love, joy, fear or sadness I have no need for at all. He withdrew his hand from her and broke eye contact, glancing off to the side. I hate to tell you this Kaida but the Tyrael you knew, died along with my parents on that night.

*Thraden walked into the pub, hidden by a black cloak. He sneaked off into the corner, and no one noticed him. He watched the discussion with interest*

Noticing the door open he looked around the room in suspicion of a new guest.

I wish that you would reconsider and once again take a hold of your life while it is still able to be grasped. How can you forsake your emotions so easily and take on the cold heart of a dragon?" *She also looked to the side as she had talked so as not to show the hurt that had been in her eyes*

*Thraden was listening to the conversation and considered getting involved, but decided it would be unwise*

Tyrael paused, not answering straight away. He was torn in two inside of him. One part of him wanted to take heed of her words, but the other told him to ignore it. It had been so long since he had been confused I dont know, Kai. I don't know. He muttered under his breath and looked down, hiding his face beneath the brim of his hat

*Thraden gave a short whistle to show kenshin who had entered* He looked over at Thraden and then back at his drink, getting an uneasy feeling about the new guest.

"Forgive me for interrupting, but you should listen to her. She is right." *Kaida's glare flicked over to the newcomer of the conversation.* "I know I am right but you don't. You know nothing of this man's life now or before. I would like it if you stuck to your own business and found yourself your own table partner." *She turned back to Tyrael* "Promise me you'll think about it, all right? If you do that I won't bother you about your lifestyle anymore." *She smiled and patted his shoulder affectionately*

"I know much more than you can imagine. I've seen this before, and I'll see it again/ It's becoming more common unfortunately. But if you don't care about your friend so much that you won't accept help then fine. I'll just finish my ale and be on my way." *Thraden downed his ale, put up his hood, and moved toward the door*

He glanced at Thraden as he moved for the door, sipping his ale as he did so.

*Thraden glanced back at them, remembering what had happened long ago that was so similar to this, and that hurt him so dearly*
